Filippo Castiglione is the the scientific coordinator of the MAGIcIAN JPI-AMR initiative. He has a degree in Computer Science from the University of Milan (Italy) and a Ph.D. in Scientific Computing of the University of Cologne (Germany). He was production engineer at ST Microelectronics; visiting researcher at IBM T.J. Watson Research Center and at the Department of Molecular Biology of Princeton University (USA); postdoc at the Department of Computer Science of the University “La Sapienza” in Rome (Italy); visiting scholar at the Harvard Medical School in Boston (USA) and postdoc at the Institute for Medical Bio-Mathematics in Tel Aviv (Israel). FC is currently Adjunct Professor at Rome Tre University teaching the two courses Machine Learning and Computational Biology.
He has served as Program Committee member of a number of international conferences in the field of Computer Science and System Biology. He is Editorial Board Member of PLoS One, Immunome Research and was Section Editor of Springer’s Encyclopedia of Complexity and System Science. FC has served as referee for more than fifty scientific journals. He has been WP-leader for two FP6 project and Project Coordinator for an FP7 project and Mgmt Committee member of a COST H2020 project. He is currently WP-leader in a H2020 and in a IMI2 project. He has published more than 100 articles in international peer reviewed scientific journals and a book. His H-index is 23 (source Scopus).
